Dorsetfest is a dog friendly music festival and following the success of the inaugural dog show at Dorsetfest 2025, we're delighted to announce that it will be back for Dorsetfest 2026, subject to the weather.
The event with be run on Saturday morning by Ellie who runs Eleanor Rose Dog Training. Ellie is an award winning ABTC Animal Training Instructor and ACE Trainer dog trainer based predominantly in Dorset, while also supporting clients in Somerset and Wiltshire.
So you can get the training crammed in over the coming weeks, Dorsetdogfest '26 plans to incorporate seven categories:
Waggiest Tail
Prettiest Bitch
Handsome Chaps
Best Young Handler
Scruffiest & Fluffiest
Cutest Puppy (under 6 months)
Golden Oldie (12+)
Best in Show
The event will start with registration at 9am with the competition to start at 9:30amd to 11am in front of the main stage, and prizes include rosettes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, with goodie bags for the winners.
Dorsetdogfest is for campers only, up to 2 handlers per dog, one dog per entry, and a maximum of 10 entries per category, with a £2 entry fee to each category and you can enter more than one category.
So don't forget to that last minute trip to the dog groomer and to polish up the lead and collar, all ready for the hairiest member of your family to take part in Dorsetdogfest '26.
Please note: With the exceptional heat wave this event will be weather dependent. While there will be he safety of the dogs will be key in any decision on whether the event is run, or if selected classes are removed.
Ellie will also have a stall at Dorsetfest with a selection if high quality natural dog treats and chews, along with locally handmade toys, quality enrichment items and training equipment. So whether it's a treat for your pampered pooch, or to get some advice and maybe sign up for a training course or two, why not pop over and say hello on the day?
