Meet Julia’s House – Dorsetfest’s nominated charity for 2024

Dorsetfest is a not-for-profit charity, and since its founding in June 2014, Dorsetfest has raised over £130,000 for good causes. In 2024 we hope to continue the good work.

This includes a nominated charity, and in 2024 we’re delighted to confirm that our nominated charity is Julia’s House.

Julia’s House is not a typical children’s hospice. They provide practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at their hospices.

Not everyone is aware, but Julia’s House receives only eight per cent Government funding. This means 92 per cent of their funding comes from  local community fundraising, so without that support, they wouldn’t be able to keep providing their vital care to the growing number of children and families in Dorset and Wiltshire who depend on them.

This fundraising helps their dedicated team of nurses, carers, therapists, family support workers and hospice doctors to provide a lifeline of care to the families of local, seriously ill children.

With your help, Dorsetfest will raise funds that will help Julia’s House offer their much needed specialist clinical, emotional and practical support and respite breaks for exhausted parents. So, join us at Dorsetfest for a great weekend in the knowledge that you’re helping support this great local cause.
