Tips to get the most from Dorsetfest

Updated: Jun 23

ree

Here we share some learnings from previous years, and the most important notes that will hopefully allow you to be prepared and make the most of the day.

  • Your safety is our number 1 priority and to ensure this we have worked with specialists and the local council to create policies and procedures that balance your enjoyment and safety. This covers everything from cars parking in the camping area to improved security. More information is available on the website and will be available on the day, but the volunteers and the security team will be on site to help you over the weekend. Please work with them if needed, and remember they are there to help you have a great weekend and keep you safe.

  • Day ticket holders can access the festival after 5pm on Friday and after 11am on Saturday. Campers can access the festival site from 12:00pm until 6:00pm on Friday, from 8:00am until 12:00pm on Saturday, and on Sunday we ask that everyone has left the site by 12:00pm so our team of hard working volunteers can finish packing up.

  • Please make sure you have a paper or electronic copy of your ticket(s) as these will need to be shown at the gate to be exchanged for a festival wristband. Without proof of purchase, that wristband cannot be issued.

  • Access to the festival is down a well maintained, but fairly steep track. If you have an mobility issues or an older vehicle that cause you any concern, please just speak to one of the team before making your way up or down. They are there to help.

  • To give an indication of timings, the music starts from 6pm on Friday and 12pm on Saturday, but food and drink may be available from stalls earlier. While some activities (like the wood fired sauna) will be available on Friday, the bulk non-musical activities will be on Saturday, some like yoga and dog show starting from 9am-9:30am. More details will be available on site.

  • Dorsetfest is a family friendly music festival, but Dorsetfest is set on a working farm. This means that certain areas are off-limits and adult supervision is a must, with a ratio of one adult to three under 18s. It also means that we ask you not to bring in glass, and ensure all waste is safely binned or taken home to avoid injury to the farm animals and wildlife.

  • Dogs are welcome and there will be a dog show on Saturday morning fore campers to enjoy.

  • Mobile signal is limited, but there will be WiFi in the festival field provided by Wessex Internet, and as far as we can extend it. This will be used to allow all the stalls and activities that are not covered by the entry ticket to take contactless payment, but we recommend you bring a cash backup just in case of any unexpected issues.

  • As you share your memories to social media, don't forget to tag us on Instagram or Facebook using #dorsetfest or using @dorsetfest to find us. We'd love to see what you share as it helps us to improve the festival going forward.

  • For safety and licencing reasons, no glass or alcohol will be allowed in the festival festival field unless purchased from the Revel Inn and we will be introducing bag checks for these.

  • To minimise waste the Revel Inn will be using reusable cups and there will be a small charge for your first drink, then you can keep the cup. Feel free to bring your own reusable cup if you prefer, but no glass.

  • The bar will be operating “Challenge 25” so if you are lucky enough to look younger than this, please make sure you have suitable id. This may also apply at the festival entrance with the ratio of one adult to three under 18s.

  • If you have any issues on the day, we'd recommend visiting our information tent which will be in a prominent spot in the festival field. This can also be used a meeting place if you get split up, and they will have comms across the festival site to help reunite wanderers or just answer any questions you have.

Please note, this is an overview and is not designed to replace the terms and conditions and you can get some more information from the frequently asked questions. If there are any other suggestions you have to improve this (and the festival) for future, please just let us know, and please keep an eye on this post as we will update it to make sure it always has the latest information.

We look forward to seeing you there for another great Dorsetfest weekend.
